Back up your iPhone using iCloud
iCloud is a cloud-based service that lets you store your data and settings online. You can use iCloud to back up your iPhone wirelessly and automatically, as long as you have enough iCloud storage space and a Wi-Fi connection. Here's how to do it:
On your iPhone, go to Settings and tap on your name at the top.
Tap on iCloud and scroll down to iCloud Backup.
Make sure iCloud Backup is turned on. If not, toggle the switch to enable it.
Tap on Back Up Now to start the backup process. You can see the progress and the time of the last backup under Back Up Now.
Wait for the backup to finish. Do not disconnect your iPhone from Wi-Fi or turn it off until the backup is complete.
You can also set up iCloud to back up your iPhone automatically every day when it is connected to Wi-Fi, plugged into power, and locked. To do this, just turn on iCloud Backup and leave your iPhone as it is at night or when you are not using it.
Back up your iPhone using your computer
You can also use your computer to back up your iPhone using iTunes (if you have a Windows PC or a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier) or Finder (if you have a Mac with macOS Catalina or later). You can use this method if you don't have enough iCloud storage space or if you prefer a local backup. Here's how to do it:
Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable. If prompted, unlock your iPhone and tap Trust This Computer.
On your computer, open iTunes or Finder and select your iPhone from the sidebar.
Under Backups, choose This Computer and check Encrypt local backup if you want to protect your backup with a password.
Click on Back Up Now to start the backup process. You can see the progress and the time of the last backup under Latest Backup.
Wait for the backup to finish. Do not disconnect your iPhone from your computer or turn it off until the backup is complete.
You can also set up iTunes or Finder to back up your iPhone automatically every time you connect it to your computer. To do this, just check Automatically back up when this iPhone is connected under Options.
